Raw Avocado Fries

These are a little different but really delicious. They won’t dry crispy like other fries due to the high oil content in avocados but they will taste amazing and are so much healthier. The wonderful oil in the avocado and the omega 3 found in the flax is hard to beat. Try some with raw cashew garlic dipping sauce on the side. My tip is to process your own flax seeds to make the meal. As Flaxseed/Linseed meal can go rancid quite quickly if left in the pantry, I leave mine stored in the fridge.

 

Gluten free, dairy free, egg free, sugar free, raw vegan, plant-based


Ingredients
¼ cup raw cashews
1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
½ teaspoon nutritional yeast
2 large avocados

Method
Add the cashews to a food processer until you reach a texture similar to bread crumbs but don’t over process. Add the ground flax seeds (meal), paprika, salt, pepper, yeast and pulse until just combined. Pour into a shallow bowl. Cut avocados into wedges of your desired thickness and gently coat with the crumb mixture. Place on baking paper on dehydrator tray. Dry for the first 2 hours at 62 degrees and then for 2-3 hours at 42 degrees. Serve immediately. If you don’t have a dehydrator try rolling your avocado slices in the crumbs and enjoy immediately with out any cooking.
