Strawberry Slice


Raw Strawberry Slice 

This simple and nutritious raw strawberry slice recipe is loaded with healthy fats, fibre and the powerful antioxidant benefits that come from those vibrant juicy strawberries and dark chocolate.

Free from processed sugars and made from natural whole foods, this is a guilt free indulgence that can also be kept in the freezer for up to 4 months (if it lasts that long!)

This recipe is a real crowd pleaser and a favourite to serve on any dessert platter when entertaining. It's a perfect example of how delicious raw food can be enjoyed using natural sweeteners with unprocessed goodness. An ideal homemade alternative to shop bought options and easily substituted with either raspberries or cherries.

The rich creamy fruit compliments the deliciously nutty base and dark chocolate topping perfectly.

An ideal "make ahead of time" option. This nutritious raw dessert is gluten free, dairy free and sugar free.


Dairy free, gluten free, egg free, sugar free, raw, vegan





1/2 cup macadamia nuts soaked in water for 30 minutes

1/2 cup dates soaked in water for 30 minutes

1 cup coconut

1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt

1 teaspoon vanilla


 Strawberry Filling:

1 cup macadamia nuts soaked in water for 30 minutes

1 cup desiccated coconut

¼ cup coconut oil

¼ cup rice syrup

1 ½ cups strawberries fresh (or frozen if fresh unavailable)

1 teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon Himalayan pink salt


Chocolate topping:

150g raw Chocolate




Rinse and drain water from nuts and dates. Process with remaining ingredients until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Press into a tin lined with baking paper. Place in the freezer to help harden until you have finished making the filling.


Strawberry Filling:

To make the strawberry layer, add all ingredients to a high speed blender and process until smooth. If you are using frozen strawberries it will be easier to defrost them first. Spoon on top of chilled base, smooth over and freeze until set.


Chocolate topping:

Melt the raw chocolate and drizzle over the strawberry layer and chill in the fridge for around an hour.


When set, remove from the slice tin, slice straight away with a hot knife to stop the chocolate cracking. Store in an airtight container in the fridge, or alternatively between layers of baking paper in the freezer for up to 4 months.
